Been running out of productivity juice lately. I’ve been feeling so lazy and uninspired these past couple of weeks it’s not even funny anymore. I’ve spent all my free time bumming it at home (watching Netflix and playing Candy Crush Saga). Basically spending my time doing anything but being productive.
I finally thought enough is enough, and what better way to step out of this rut than to write about the things you can do to get inspired a.k.a the things I seriously need to start doing:
1. TRY SOMETHING YOU’VE ALWAYS THOUGHT YOU COULDN’T DO
Get your lazy butt off the couch and do something new. Take a step off your comfort zone and challenge yourself. Besides, you never really know what you can or can’t do unless you actually try to do it right?
2. LISTEN TO A NEW TYPE OF MUSIC
Music is powerful. I’ve experienced countless times how a single song can instantly change your mood for the entire day. Music can be a time machine. One song can teleport you back in time and make you remember things you totally don’t even remember happening. Listen to a new artist or a different genre of music. This might just give you a glimpse of the future and that tiny push you desperately need.
3. RECONNECT WITH NATURE
What better way to recharge your mind than to go out and experience nature. Go on a trip. Sun on your skin, the wind in your hair, sand on your feet and an ice-cold beer on your hand. If that doesn’t get the creativity juices flowing I don’t know what can.
One of the reasons why people don’t really do anything anymore is because we live our lives through the tiny screens on our cellular phones. Try to disconnect for a while and take a real good look at everything around you. You might just discover something that was right in front of you all along.
5. TALK TO A CHILD
Oh, what I wouldn’t do to get the innocence and creativity of a child. When we were kids, naive and foolish, we thought that everything is possible. We dreamt freely and endlessly. So talk to a child or just reconnect with the inner child in you and this might just pave the way to new and exciting ideas for you to try and do.
